Great Lakes Regional Tournament

The NCBA along with the Dubois County Visitor Center are proud to announce that the 2013 Great Lakes Conference Regional Tournament will again be held at Huntingburg League Stadium in Huntingburg, Indiana. The tournament will be held May 10-13, 2013. The official hotel of the tournament will again be Quality Inn of Huntingburg. Further details will be released at a future date.

Sam Houston St Sweeps Victoria

Everything went the way of the Sam Houston State Bearkats this past weekend on their way to an important 3 game sweep of conference opponent Victoria at home. The Kats were led by David Michalak who went 5-11 at the plate and by the outstanding performance of Taylor Holt on the mound with 7 scoreless innings and 14 K’s. The Kats now enjoy a 3-0 start to conference play.

Baylor Continues Great Pitching And Defense

The Baylor Bears continued to show that their pitching and defense are forces to be reckoned with in the Gulf Coast North. The Bears got not one but TWO no-hitters over the weekend. Ace Robbie Greenberg delivered a sensational performance against SMU, with a complete game, 7 inning shutout, no hitter. Robbie just missed a perfect game when he hit a batter in the 7th. The Bears also had 6 pitchers combine for 9-inning no hitter as well. The wins improve Baylor’s record to 6-0.

#5 Colorado State Forfeits 4 to #3 Texas Tech

#5 Colorado State was unfortunately forced to forfeit all 4 games of a highly anticipated series with #3 Texas Tech due to issues with travel arrangements. All four games will be recorded as 7-0 victories for Texas Tech.

#17 Texas A&M Handles #18 Texas

The #17 Texas A&M Aggies continued their hot start to the season by taking both ends of a double header against rival #18 Texas. The series was played as non-conference. The Ags offense was led by Vaughn Miller and JR Bethel while Roman Brown and Justin Holder delivered strong outings on the mound. The two teams will meet up again for conference play to close the season in April.

Montgomery Tops Kingwood

LSC-Montgomery took round one of this cross town matchup by taking 2 out of 3 from Kingwood. The Mavs were led at the plate by Colby Felton who was terrific at the dish, going 7-12 on the series. The Mavs erased a 5-0 defecit in Game 1 to win 6-5, then handily won Game 2 by a 14-5 score. Kingwood redeemed themselves on Sunday behind a 20 hit barrage to earn a 14-4 win.
