The Longhorns opened the season with a pair of key non-conference victories over Texas State. Brandon Alex was dominant in his first start of the season, going 4 innings and allowing 1 unearned run while striking out 7 and giving up just 1 hit.Game 1 was capped by Clay Modgling’s RBI triple to seal the win. Game 2 featured another dominant pitching performance, this time by Blake Sandall who earned the win and POTW honors.
