A big portion of that energy came from the player of the game, Jacob Anderson who went 1 for 4 and blasted a 3-run bomb to give Utah State a much needed lead.

It was an exciting event under the lights as the 2017 DeMarini Longball Challenge took place at 7pm! Matt Sanchez of the University of Central Florida took home the grand prize of a fully customized bat from DeMarini with 14 bombs. He previously hit 5 in the first round and 10 in the second, giving him a total of 29 for the evening!

It was the first elimination game of the World Series and it did not disappoint. Both the Nittany Lions and the Rams knew that everything was on the line. Penn State got ahead early with a 2-run bomb by Patrick Barder. Matt McDonough’s stellar 8-inning pitching helped back up the offense and earned him and Barder co-players of the game honors.
