#6 Texas Tech used outstanding pitching, including a 9-inning no-hitter from Hudson Taylor and an 11 strike out outing from Ryan Canak, to sweep the 3 game set at SMU. The Red Raiders had great performances at the plate by Colin Calbreath and Oscar Sandate. SMU was led by the hitting of Ben Laetsch and a solid outing on the hill by Pearce Howell.

#1 Texas A&M Stays Perfect
The top-ranked Texas A&M Aggies stayed perfect on the season, extending their record to 4-0, after defeating non-conference opponent Texas State at home this past weekend. Clay Balch was a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the doubleheader while the hard throwing David Williams earned his second win in as many outings.
SMU Announces Presence With Series Win
The SMU Mustangs have made it official that they are here to play this season. The Mustangs used a tremendous weekend at the plate by Nick Sotta and Sam Raffaelli to kick start their season against TCU. The Stangs also got outstanding performances on the mound from Brad Quillen and Joey Hayden. The wins help SMU start the season 2-1.
#15 Baylor Pitching Shines In Series Sweep
The Baylor Bears picked up where they left off last season with great pitching leading the way. Robbie Greenberg led the way for a staff that gave up just 2 ER in 3 games against non-region opponent Kansas. The Bears also welcomed back Irvin Santamaria who returned from an injury shortened season last year to star at the plate in their series sweep. The wins get Baylor off to a 3-0 start.
#7 Texas Tech Rolls
The 7th ranked Red Raiders continued their great start to the season with a sweep over UTSA at home this past weekend. The Raiders were led on the mound by Hudson Taylor and Ryan Canak and used the hot hitting of Glen Morrison and Graham Bunting to outscore their opponents 17-2 in 3 games. The wins push Texas Tech’s record to 5-1 on the season.
#7 Texas Tech Earns Key Road Series Win Over Texas
A brilliant series between #7 Texas Tech and Texas in Austin was capped by a 1 run victory on Sunday for the Red Raiders. All 3 games were 1 run games decided late in a very close series. Texas Tech was led by Tyler Anderson and veteran Oscar Sandate at the plate, while Ryan Canak and Dylan Dahse were sold on the hill. For the Longhorns, Clay Modgling continue his hot start to the season at the dish.
