The University of Nevada has been placed on probation and issued 4 forfeit losses for violating NCBA DI Rule 6.02.2.

San Antonio Forfeits Season

San Antonio College (SAC) has decided to forfeit their 2014 season due to being unable to successfully field a team. Teams scheduled to play conference games against SAC will be awarded 7-0,7-0, and 9-0 victories for each scheduled series.

#12 Baylor Falls At Home

The #12 Baylor Bears dropped a pair of one-run games to the visiting Nebraska Cornhuskers this past Saturday. Afterwards, the games were ruled automatic forfeits by the NCBA since Nebraska participated in games without a valid roster. Baylor was awarded a pair of 7-0 forfeit victories.

North Texas Falls to Nebraska

The Nebraska Cornhuskers swept a doubleheader with North Texas on Friday evening in the season opener for both teams. Afterwards, the games were overturned and ruled 7-0 forfeit victories for North Texas since Nebraska participated in games without a valid roster. The forfeits move UNT’s record to 2-0.

Texas Wraps Up 4 Win Week

Texas came on strong during Week 13. The Longhorns knocked off the NCBA’s lone Canadian team Lakehead University (D2) during a rare midweek affair, then swept UTSA in conference play to complete a perfect week. The Horns were led by the outstanding pitching of Blake Sandall and Brandon Alex and the hot hitting of Clay Modgling, Chris Muellner, and Edgar Ramirez.

#1 Texas A&M Takes 2 of 3

The top ranked team in the land took on D2 heavy hitter TAMU Corps this past weekend, walking away with a pair of wins in this 3 game affair. The big fella David Williams was brilliant again on the mound for the Ags, earning his 3rd win of the season while allowing no runs on 3 hits and racking up 10 K’s. The Ags did fall for the first time this season in a 6-5 battle that ended the series.

Lone Star Tallies 4 Wins In 2 Days

Dark horse Lone Star College (D1) opened the season with back to back doubleheaders in non-conference play this past weekend and swept both ends of a pair of doubleheaders. The Coyotes showed off their depth and kept the momentum for a strong 2nd place finish at the fall Wood Wars tournament. LSC heads into conference play starting the season at 4-0.

Houston Drops DH to UH Downtown

The Houston Cougars dropped both ends of a doubleheader against in-town rival UH-Downtown. The losses move their record to 0-6 heading into conference play next weekend.
