Nevada starts off 2017 where they left off in 2016…at the top!  In fact the top eight teams in the Preseason Top 20 were all World Series teams in 2016.  Make sure to check out how the rest of the Rawlings Preseason DI Top 20 shakes out.

With the University of Nevada coming in to this season fresh off a National Championship win, the rest of the SoPac have their work cut out for them. Oregon won the National Championship in 2015 and then followed up with another Northern Pacific Regional Championship in 2016.  After losing their opening round game at the World Series, Oregon battled back to make it to the National Semi-finals before losing to the eventual National Champions, the University of Nevada. Pittsburgh ran away with the North Atlantic Title in 2016 and started off 33-0 before losing back to back games in the World Series. In 2016, East Carolina took home the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship after defeating Ohio University in the Championship Game.  ECU followed that up with a fantastic performance at the World Series but fell short to Nevada in the Championship Game.  Will they have what it takes in 2017? Texas A&M won the 2016 Gulf Coast Regional by defeating Texas 12-4 in the championship game.
