SOUTHERN PACIFIC TEAM PREVIEWS

Grand Canyon University was king of the mountain in the SoPac in 2018.  At the World Series, the newcomers turned heads placing in the final four but ultimately fell short of their goal.  Will 2019 be the year for Grand Canyon?  Will they win Regional’s and make it back to Holly Springs to finish their business, or will someone else dethrone the Lopes and win the SoPac Title in 2019?  Check out the Southern Pacific Team Previews to find out!

GREAT LAKES TEAM PREVIEWS

The University of Wisconsin won the Great Lakes Region in 2018 and represented the Great Lakes at the World Series in Holly Springs.   After getting a taste but ultimately going 1-2 at the World Series, will they have the hunger to get back in 2019, or will another team take the Great Lakes Crown this year?  Check out the Great Lakes Team Previews to see who might have what it takes to make it to Holly Springs in 2019.

CARACCI ELECTED AS DI TEAMS REP

After a record number of teams voting, Joe Caracci has been elected as the NCBA DI Rules Committee Teams Representative.  Should any Division I Team have a rule that they would like added/changed/deleted, they can email Joe at [email protected].  Joe will save your suggestion and present it on your behalf at the annual Rules Committee Meeting this summer.  Joe has been around club baseball for many years and will be a great advocate for the Division I Teams.

SPECIAL ELECTION: DI TEAMS REP UP FOR ELECTION

The Teams have voted to hold a special election for the NCBA Rules Committee D1 Team Representative Position.  This is a one year term which will require the elected D1 Teams Rep to travel to Pittsburgh for the Annual Rules Committee Meeting in the Summer.  The D1 Rules Rep will gather rule suggestions from D1 Teams during the course of the year and present them on behalf of the D1 teams to the rest of the Rules Committee for vote. Anyone can run for the position, so if you are interested in running, please fill out the D1 Rules Rep Candidate Form. To be considered, this needs to be completed and sent to [email protected]  by Sunday, November 18th at 11:59pm EST.

DISCIPLINARY ACTION

Ohio University has been placed on probation for violation of NCBA Rule 6.02.2.  In a Week 8 conference match-up with the University of Cincinnati, Ohio University played all 3 games with zero eligible players on their roster.  By rule, they automatically forfeit all games played and they are automatically placed on probation.

HOMEWOOD SUITES NAMED OFFICIAL HOST HOTEL FOR DI WORLD SERIES

The NCBA is excited to announce that Homewood Suites in Cary, NC will once again serve as the official host hotel for the 2019 NCBA DI World Series.  Check out all the details of the partnership in the official press release.
