DISCIPLINARY ACTION
Montana State has been placed on probation for violating NCBA Rule 6.02.2
ROSTER FREEZE!!!
Next Monday (April 15th) is the roster freeze deadline. After midnight EST on the 15th, no more players can be added/activated to any team roster. The NCBA URGES you to double check your rosters on the NCBA website and if you feel anyone is missing or you want to add someone that paperwork needs to be turned in ASAP.
Sam Houston State Takes 2 of 3 From Montgomery
Sam Houston took charge of the Gulf Coast East standings by taking 2 of 3 from LSC Montgomery over the weekend. Sam Houston’s Dane Blackwood stepped up for the Bearkats at the plate, going 5-14 with a triple and 4 RBI. The Bearkats also got a great peformance on the mound from Taylor Holt. For the Montgomery Mavericks, Ryan Lauderdale was at it again with another 10 RBI’s in 3 games. The Mavs also had a brilliant performance from Brandon Woodson on the mound in game 3.
LSC Kingwood Earns First Confernce Series Win
Kingwood was led by Jordan Coaliron who not only delivered at the dish but also had a fantastic performance on the mound. Also giving a great pitching performance were Kingwood’s Jeremy Kiper and Victoria’s Justin Oliver who each earned wins in their respective starts. Kingwood improves to 4-5 in conference and Victoria drops to 1-8 after the first round of conference play.
Texas Takes 2 of 3 from UTSA
Texas took 2 out of 3 games from UTSA over the weekend behind the hitting of Chris Muellner and Clay Modgling. The Horns also got another solid performance out of ace Blake Sandall on the hill. For UTSA, the Alex Gutierrez and Jarrod Boyle led at the plate, while Noah Kehinde delivered a strong 6 inning performance in their win.
Texas State Sweeps SAC
Texas State used another great performance from Matt Steiner who tossed a 1 hitter and a scorching weekend at the plate from Sean Pilola to sweep SAC. The Bobcats head into an all important series with Texas A&M sporting a 5-1 conference record.
UNT Takes 2 of 3 from SMU
Despite dropping 2 of 3, SMU showed that they can contend in the very tough Gulf Coast North. Another strong pitching performance from Charlie Haley on the mound did help SMU secure a coveted conference win. The Mustangs were also aided at the plate by the hitting of Nick Sotta and Garrett Kinney.
#3 Texas Tech Take Series From #19 Baylor
#3 Texas Tech used the hot hitting of veteran Marcus Molina to secure a series win over a very game opponent in #19 Baylor. Baylor held their own during the weekend and secured a victory from Travis Spear’s dominant start on the hill. The all important rematch in Waco will be in a few weeks.
