Houston Drops 2 to Crosstown Rival Rice
Houston opened its season with a disappointing pair of losses against crosstown rival Rice (D2). The losses drop the Cougars to 0-2 heading into their Week 11 matchup with #1 Texas A&M.
Texas Take DH From Texas State
The Longhorns opened the season with a pair of key non-conference victories over Texas State. Brandon Alex was dominant in his first start of the season, going 4 innings and allowing 1 unearned run while striking out 7 and giving up just 1 hit.Game 1 was capped by Clay Modgling’s RBI triple to seal the win. Game 2 featured another dominant pitching performance, this time by Blake Sandall who earned the win and POTW honors.

SoPAC Regional Tournament
