Oregon won the National Championship in 2015 and then followed up with another Northern Pacific Regional Championship in 2016.  After losing their opening round game at the World Series, Oregon battled back to make it to the National Semi-finals before losing to the eventual National Champions, the University of Nevada. Texas A&M won the 2016 Gulf Coast Regional by defeating Texas 12-4 in the championship game. Illinois won the Great Lakes Region in 2016 and followed up with a nice showing at the World Series defeating the defending champions, Oregon 6-5 in the opening round.  They start the 16-17 season off with a 3-0 record but is that enough to repeat in 2017? NCBA DI officers should be on the lookout for the 2017 Team Preview Form that was emailed to them. This form is the best way to market their teams to the Top 20 Voting Panel. The form needs completed and returned to the respective Regional Director by January 11th.

The NCBA Rules Committee D2 Team Representative Position is up for election.  This is a two year term which will require the elected D2 Teams Rep to travel to Pittsburgh for the Annual Rules Committee Meeting in the Summer.  The D2 Rules Rep will gather rule suggestions from D2 Teams during the course of the year and present them on behalf of the D2 teams to the rest of the Rules Committee for vote. Anyone can run for the position, so if you are interested in running, please fill out the D2 Rules Rep Candidate Form.
