GMA SUPPLY RETURNS AS TITLE SPONSOR

The NCBA is excited to announce that GMA Supply will once again serve as the Title Sponsor for the 2018 NCBA Division I World Series!  The NCBA enthusiastically thanks GMA Supply for their support, without which, putting on such an amazing event would not be possible.

RAWLINGS WEEK 12 NCBA DI TOP 20

Not much movement in the Rawlings Week 12 NCBA DI Top 20, which was to be expected.  The University of Central Florida did grab another first place vote, but it was still not enough to overtake the Pirates from East Carolina who once again sit atop the rankings in week 12.

MID-ATLANTIC TEAM PREVIEWS

To say East Carolina is a absolute powerhouse is an understatement.  They have won the Mid-Atlantic Region four years in a row and five of the last seven years.  While the Mid-Atlantic Championship Crown has been one they are used to wearing, the National Championship Crown hasn’t been so easily attainable for the Pirates.  In their first appearance at the World Series in 2011 and winning the National Championship, they had a two year hiatus before returning in 2014.  After dissappointing finishes at the World Series in 2014, 2015 and 2016, ECU absolutely dominated the World Series in 2017 behind incredible pitching and defense. In 4 games at the World Series, they only gave up 1-run.  That isn’t a typo…1-run!  It was safe to say they were on a mission behind first year head coach Ben Fox.  After 10 innings and a complete game behind World Series MVP, Tanner Duncan, the mission was complete.  ECU won their 2nd National Championship in the greatest game in NCBA World Series history, defeating UCF 1-0.  Is there anyway ECU can make it five straight trips to the World Series, or will it be another Mid-Atlantic Team in 2018?  Check out the Mid-Atlantic Team Previews to figure out who will be in Holly Springs this year!

SOUTH ATLANTIC TEAM PREVIEWS

What a season for the 2017 South Atlantic Champions, the University of Central Florida.  They battled through and eventually won the South Atlantic Regional after winning two 1-run games and came into the World Series as the #3 seed.  Who would have thought they would be part of the best World Series game ever played.  In the National Championship Game they lost in the bottom of the 10th inning 1-0.  They came up just short of their ultimate goal which will surely provide them motivation to get back in 2018.  But will that motivation be enough?  Will someone else take the South Atlantic crown this year?  Check out the South Atlantic Team Previews to find out.

GULF COAST TEAM PREVIEWS

Texas State seemed to come out of nowhere in 2017 as the Champions of the Gulf Coast.  They were selected as the at-large bid for the Gulf-Coast Regional then proceeded to win it in dominating fashion.  Coming into the World Series as the #7 seed, not much was expected out of them especially with their opening round match up against Colorado State.  The Bobcats made their voice heard early defeating CSU 6-0.  They ultimately lost their next two games, but were extremely competitive and showed they were a force to reckon with.  Will that be the same in 2018 or will another team take the crown?  Read the Gulf Coast Team Previews to form your opinion!

NORTHERN PACIFIC TEAM PREVIEWS

In 2017 Utah State represented the Northern Pacific Region at the World Series after a two year hiatus.  It certainly didn’t go as expected for Aggies as they went 1-2 with both losses being at the hands of Nevada.  In their previous two appearances at the World Series in 2012 and 2014, they won National Championships.  Oregon and Western Washington are two other teams that have won the Northern Pacific in recent years.  Who will it be in 2018?  Check out the Northern Pacific Team Previews to find out!
